Dry wipe boards generally fall into two categories; magnetic dry wipe boards and non magnetic dry wipe boards, they are available in many sizes to suit anything form the kitchen wall in the home right up to 2 metre wide versions for the ultimate in dry wipe display. they are also available with a feint gridded line covering the entire face of the board - this helps when presenting things like graphs and figures and can generally only be seen when up close to the surface of the dry wipe board. Frames
There are several different types of frames on the office boards here at Officeprofiles. The most common frame finishes are aluminium and plastic trim frames but many are also on offer with wooden frames - it's worth remembering that the more robust aluminium frames are often the harder waring and will stand up better to generasl wear ansd tear over the years. There are 4 main surface styles to our office boards.
Drywipe board - this is easily the most common board style in most busy offices today. Drywipe boards are designed for use with a drywipe marker pen. Drywipe boards are designed for use in planning, meeting rooms, training and educational formats. The more expensive drywipe boards tend to have better quality surfaces, thus reducing the chance of any marker stains affecting the look of the board after time.
Magnetic drywipe boards - these are the same in look and feel to normal drywipe boards only they have a steel coating behind the drywipe surface, this allows the user to use specific drywipe consumable like magnets and magnetic shapes to help with their drywipe displays along side traditional drywipe marker pens.
Cork boards - Old school but still a popular choice in many offices. Cork boards are ideal for company displays, newsletter boards and pinning notices to etc. They are also the first choice for use in the home where the cork board takes on a whole new application. Premier cork boards are generally made for a higher grade cork which gives little sign of showing the pin marks on the boards surface (referred to as 'self healing' boards).
Noticeboards - typically surfaced with felt or fabric the office noticeboard is available in several colour to suit your office colour scheme. Noticeboards are perfect for the more permanent display areas. The make up of these boards means that they can be used with either push pins or Velcro for attaching messages.
Security boards - these are noticeboards with a clear, lockable front and are ideal for sensitive or public areas where the protection of the boards display cannot always be controlled.
Looking after your drywipe board.
NEVER EVER USE ANY OTHER MARKER EXCEPT DRYWIPE MARKERS when using your drywipe board. This with not only be very hard to remove but the chemicals involved in removing permanent ink will certainly damge the quality of the drywipe surface for later use.
ONLY CLEAN DRYWIPE PEN OFF WITH A DRY CLOTH this is the number one mistake people make when using drywipe boards, it doesn't need spraying with foam or cleaning spray to wipe the marker off, these products are designer for periodically cleaning the overall surface of the board and should only be used when all marker residue has been removed.
AVOID TOUCHING THE SURFACE OF YOUR DRYWIPE BOARD it's not needed and will leave grease on the surface that will affect both the look and the performance of your drywipe board.
BE AWARE MAGNETIC DRYWIPE BOARDS ARE HEAVY they contain a steel inner to make them magnetic, always ensure your board is installed correctly with proper fixings.
