Which one of our writing products is right for you?

Ball point pens

These are more commonly know as a Biro (after the inventor of this pen László Bíró). The Biro is the most widely used writing instrument around the world and is also the most economical option for the office supplies buyer. The ball point pen has a small internal chamber filled with a special ink that is applied to the paper by a unique and clever spherical tip (the ball) that when rolled over the writing surface applies the ink which dries almost instantly. Since its introduction the Biro has over taken the original fountain pen as the most popular writing tool for everyday use.

Fineliner pens

These pens often offer very fine line widths which are a particular favorite for those with small writing styles and people who have to write in small areas (plans, diagrams and charts etc). Fine line pens also give the user a softer, smoother feel their writing.

Italic pens

This area of the Officeprofiles writing products category contains calligraphy pens and italic fountain pens. Calligraphy pens are used to produce italic style writing; often shown in scrolls, certificates, deeds and designer invitations etc.

Mechanical pencils

Often preferred for general office writing rather than pens due to their fine writing style, pen like feel and eraser nib. Mechanical pencils are aimed at the graphics, designer and technical drawing market - they come with various lead options for darker or lighter line strengths and are available as a disposable pencils or quality refillable pencils to suit.

Permanent markers

Officeprofiles stock chisel tipped, bullet tipped and fine tipped permanent markers in black, blue, red and green options - environmental markers are offered in the recycled section of the website for the greener minded office products consumers amongst us. Popular brands of permanent markers on sale here at officeprofiles include; Pentel, Bic, Staedtler, Sharpie, ecoLabel, Papermate, Edding, Pilot, Berol, Artline and Five Star. Poster markers and extra large line widths are also available in this section.

OHP pens / Overhead projection markers

These are specialist pens and markers for the specific use on OHP acetates (the clear plastic film placed on an overhead projector in presentations) - they come in a variety of colours, line widths and are offered in permanent and non permanent which can be wiped clean when finished. Rollerball pens Similar to the standard ball pen but offers a more continuous flow of a more liquid style of ink, rollerball pens give a very smooth writing finish.

Fountain pens

The oldest style of pen that there is, the fountain pen is essentially a pen that uses a reservoir of water based liquid ink. A capillary action feed coupled with simple gravity allows the ink to be transferred from the reservoir, through the nib and onto the paper. Fountain pens can be filled in one of two ways; firstly and the oldest way is to suck the ink into the pen with an eyedropper, this is an internal mechanism that uses the nib to transport the ink from a well or bottle up and into the pen ready for writing - secondly the fountain pen may have simple replacement ink cartridges that can be swapped over as and when needed. fountain pens are often the perfect gift for the business connoisseur with executive ranges including Parker fountain pens and Cross fountain pens.

Drywipe markers

These are design for use only on drywipe boards. dry wipe markers come in a variety of colours and can be simply wiped off a drywipe noticeboard when your presentation is finished with. The officeprofiles range of drywipe markers and pens includes brands like Sasco, Acco, Five star, Pilot and Rosinco (environmentally freindly dry wipe markers) - its worth remembering that they are called DRY wipe markers because they are supposed to be wiped clean with a DRY cloth or drywipe eraser and not drywipe board cleaning fluid.
