What does FSC stand for?
Office Labels marked with the FSC eco-logo contain raw wood from well managed forests in exact accordance with the strict guidlines and rules of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). In order to get this trademark, the wood must be from a selected forest which is well managed according to stringent environmental, social and economic standards. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international, non-profit association that brings people together to find solutions which promote responsible awareness and management of our world's forests.
How can my office recycle the Avery eco-friendly labels and what happens during the recycling process?
Unused Avery eco-friendly address labels and liners can be disposed of along with all other recyclable waste paper using whatever is your usual business recycling method. Paper based address labels and siliconised liners can be used for the pulp when making recycled papers. During this process all components which can't be used in paper making, such as the labels adhesive and silicone, are filtered out and disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
Why is the labels adhesive eco-friendly?
Avery eco-friendly office labels are coated witha special anemulsion adhesive. This is a water based adhesive glue that doesn't contain any harmful solvent and therefore it is safe for our environment and human beings. It can even bestuck on non-fatty foodstuff. For example you could stick the label to an apple, peel it off again and still eat the apple without any health risks.
