Canon makes Sunday times Green list

20 May 2008
Office products and digital camera manufacturer Canon has been placed 13th in the inaugural Sunday Times Green List published with The Sunday Times last weekend.

This is the first time the publication has saught to find the top 50 companies making progress to improve their environmental performance. The eco survey takes account of the views of company employees - who get to rate their organisation’s green credentials - as well as assessing the environmental performance, policies and practices of businesses.

Canon achieved thirteenth in the overall rankings but also came third in the ‘Larger companies with medium environmental impact’ category and third in the South East region.

“We are delighted to be featured in the best green companies list in The Sunday Times,” said Andy Vickers, MD, Canon UK & Ireland. “We are committed to improving our working environment and our work practices in order to minimise our impact on the environment and feel very proud to be recognised for the input we have made so far. The fact that our own employees have been questioned as part of this list makes the ranking even more worthy because it reaffirms that the philosophy of living and working together for the common good is believed and implemented right through the business.”
