New ''Green'' calculator from Xerox

The world’s largest office products manufacturer Xerox has unveiled the stationery industry’s first Sustainability Calculator designed to help office customers identify opportunities to reduce their environmental effect while reducing office costs. The newly developed software tool measures the overall impact an offices document handling technologies and the impact they have on our environment.
The Xerox Sustainability Calculator is the newest company assessment tool which is now available through Xerox Office Products Services. The tool evaluates the current office environment of inkjet and photocopiers and (printer/fax/scanner/copier)and then measures overall environmental benefits that could be achieved in terms of and paper use and energy used, solid waste, water, air and greenhouse gas emissions; infact it pretty much calculates your companies eco footprint made from your chosen office document solution.
'This eco calculator cracks the code to help UK offices of any size actually understand with clear facts and figures just how ‘green’ their offices are or could be,' stated John Kelly, of Xerox Global Services North America. 'The same office consumers who are eco aware at home are starting to bring this awareness to work, but research showed that in many cases, they didn’t know where to start. We designed the Office Sustainability Calculator to be an easy to use effective environmental impact assessment tool. It provides customers with simple actionable recommendations to help offices achieve their ‘environmental/green’ objectives and in doing so realise there are also cost savings and efficiency gains that come with an optimised office environment.'
The Xerox Sustainability Calculator not only tracks paper and document technology from Xerox but also inkjet and laser printers, photocopiers and multifunctional devices from other popular office supplies companies.
