Feng Shui in your office top tips
08 February 2008
1. Try to sit in the corner farthest from the doorway or entrance to the room to have more of a 'command' position. 2. Try not to sit in direct line with the door; this position is more likely to put you in the path of negative energy. 3. Always keep your back toward a corner or a wall for support. If a post protrudes from the wall or corner, correct it by covering it with a natural hanging plant's draping foliage. 4. Try to sit with a tall building or office behind you, this will provide the support of a 'mountain' if your office chair backs onto a window. 5. Never face away from the office door if you are conducting your business from home. Business will symbolically come to you through the door, so try to face the door and not turn your back on it. 6. Arrange your office desks so that you don’t look straight out into a corridor or see the stairs, stationery storage rooms, closets, elevators, escalators, or toilets. 7. Putting your computer desk in the North or West area of your office will enhance your creativity. Place the computer desk in the Southeast if you use it to generate income. 8. If possible place an aquarium or tabletop fountain in the East, North, or Southeast. A small office aquarium with black or blue fish in the North area of your office desk or workstation will activate your business and career success. Guppies or a single arrow Ana are ideal for an aquarium made of glass and metal. 9. Try to place an office safe, which is usually constructed of metal, in either West or Northwest, which traditionally both represent the metal element. The office safe symbolizes the prosperity and financial security of a business. 10. Décor wise try to have a good balance of yin and yang when deciding on colours in your office environment or workspace. Balance light and dark colors, hard and soft surfaces, and smooth and rough textures in your choice of window treatments, office furniture, and flooring finish. 11. Avoid having any mirrors in your office space, as they can reflect negative energy from clients to other people in the room. You should always aim to maintain control over the energy in your office. 12. Ensure you treat the files (and other office supplies) in your office with respect. They represent your offices past, present, and future business. 13. Try to keep your office equipment and office stationery well hidden. This eliminate clutter and allows for the free flow of you office positive chi.
